Three American songscapers present a set each at Union Pool in Brooklyn on Thursday, August 7th: the punk-jazz maestro Julian Cubillos (rough and dreamy singer-songwriter soul); the shimmering blues architect Jib Kidder (purposeful and ecstatic); and the ten-piece roots organelle, Tom Csatari Band (wall-of-sound folk/jazz instrumentals). In short, music you can’t describe in a few words, as each band leader is forging a (mostly non-commercial) scene-less path.
The evening also marks the celebration of the record label Tiny Montgomery’s Spring 2015 split-single release Bon Courage featuring uniquely localized tracks from Cubillos and Csatari.
